Rally Obedience
I am delighted to announce that Standish Dog Trainer is running Talking Dogs Rally classes.
Talking Dogs Rally was launched in the UK in 2010. Talking Dogs Rally is based on Charles Kramer’s Rally-Obedience, which started in the USA ten years ago.
TDRally is a fun sport where dog and owner work together to navigate a course of obedience style stations, aiming to loose a few points as possible. There are over 70 different stations across 3 difficulty levels, giving a limitless number of challenges and courses for dog and handler, this really is the sport that keeps on giving!
At Standish Dog Trainer we will teach you each station in turn, put these stations into a sequence for you and as your skills progress the challenges that you are able to complete will grow in size and complexity.
Handlers of all ages and abilities are welcome to take part in TDRally and there are no age or breed restrictions for dogs in this fun new sport.
The really good thing about TDRally is that you can play with it and practise easily in your home, garden and out on your walks, no special equipment is needed. I have found that TDRally can help to promote good communication skills between dogs and owners, increase dogs concentration on their owner and boosts dogs and owners confidence. Mental stimulation for puppies and dogs is very beneficial and can help your dog to relax and settle better when they are at home.
Here are some videos showing Indie and I practising some of our TDRally stations at home. Hope you enjoy them.
Our classes run at 9am on a Saturday morning and 7pm on a Wednesday evening. All classes are in Standish, with indoor and outdoor facilities. Classes run all year round in six week terms costing £48 per term. Regrettably dogs that are aggressive towards people or other dogs cannot attend.
